Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data DayCairn processes, why, and the choices you have. We try to collect as little as possible.

Data we process

• Account: your email address and authentication data.

• Profile: display name, short bio and profile photo (optional).

• Your content: cairns, daily entries (text), photos and voice notes you add, and cover images.

• Social activity: who you follow, the cairns you follow, cheers and fist bumps.

• Technical data needed to run the service (e.g. basic logs from our provider). We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

Why we use it

To create and secure your account, to store and display your content to you and the people you choose, to provide the social features, and to keep the app working and safe. We rely on the performance of our agreement with you (to provide the app) and your consent for optional features.

Where your data is stored

DayCairn uses Supabase as its backend provider for authentication, database and file storage. Your data is processed on Supabase's infrastructure on our behalf. Files (photos, voice notes, avatars) are stored in a private bucket and served through temporary signed links.

What others can see

A cairn you mark public, and its entries, can be seen by other users. A private cairn is only visible to you and the specific people you add to its share list. We never sell your personal data.

Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. A deleted cairn goes to a trash for 7 days (so you can restore it) and is then permanently removed. When you delete your account, your personal data is deleted, except where we must keep some of it to comply with the law.

Your rights

Depending on your country, you can access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and object to or restrict certain processing. You can edit your profile and content in the app, and request account deletion. To exercise your rights, contact us at hello@daycairn.com.

Children

DayCairn is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from them.

Security

We use access controls (row-level security) and signed links to protect your content. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in the app.
